Which sex cat is best to keep in a High rise building?

i don't mean anything about it's safty like falling off the balcony or anything like that, i meant as in i don't have a garden for obvious reasons,so the cat will be indoor for most of it's life, so which sex is ideal, male or female?

Which sex cat is best to keep in a High rise building?
either as long as you have them spayed . i think it is ok to keep a cat indoors so go ahead , you will get so much pleasure out of whatever you choose . good luck
Reply:I live on a 12* floor and have owned two tomcats without any problems. The one who lived with us for 15 years was not neutered and the cat I have nowadays is neutered(I recommend this)
Reply:Male cats (even when fixed sometimes) will spay to mark their territory, no matter where their territory is. However if they are fixed as soon as they can be either sex can be a wonderful addition.
Reply:I would say a male as long as he is neutured. If he isnt neutured he will spray everywhere to mark his teritory. Having said that a female cat would be good too as long as she is spayed. If she isnt spayed she will lose blood once in a while as she will come into season.
Reply:female
Reply:My vote is for female. They are calmer and are more suited to apartment life than males. Get her spayed as soon as she is old enough in case there is a tom cat in the same building. He will tear down walls to get to her when she comes into heat if she has not been spayed.
Reply:We have 2 females and one goes out occasionally, the other has never been out in her life (she's about 10 years old). She's fine, we look after them both, vet's etc. Just because they don't go out, doesn't mean they're treated badly.
Reply:I would go with female, but have her fixed at 5 months anyway, both roam if they are not fixed, toms just more so. Getting them fixed means a longer life for them anyway.
Reply:my boy sleeps all day hes so lazy, he used to go out but our new house is near a busy road so he doesnt want to go out. hes quite content in his massive dog bed by the radiator!
Reply:Neither,it`s cruel to keep a cat locked up indoors for the rest

of its life. How would you like to spend 15-20 years of your life

confined in one place and not be able to go out.

Cat`s love to go out and hunt and fight with other cats.

Buy a dog instead.you can take it walkies and the exercise

will do you both good.

Reply:get a female, tom cats want out and about to do the business where females are more settled x
Reply:What is a "sex cat"? Sounds interesting.
Reply:Is it fair on any cat to be kept indoors?
