R.L Stine book name? Driving me nuts!!!?

Okay, I read this book probably in 4th grade and it scared the crap out of me! I remember it was by R.L Stine and it wasn't part of the Goosebumps series. It had something to do with a woman living at a house with a rose garden and falling in love with a killer? She realizes it and there is a chase through the garden? I think this book is the reason I hate roses. What is the title though?

Could it be one of his "Fear Street" or "Fear Street Saga" books? The Fier family, who later changes the spelling to Fear, either has a rose garden or lives close to someone with a rose garden.
