Who or what is the Supreme Lover that Rumi writes of?

In the orchard and rose garden

I long to see Your face.

In the taste of Sweetness

I long to kiss Your lips.

In the shadows of passion

I long for Your Love.

Oh! Supreme Lover!

Let me leave aside my worries.

The flowers are blooming

with the exultation of Your Spirit.

By Allah!

I long to escape the prison of my ego

and lose myself

in the mountains and the desert.

These sad and lonely people tire me.

I long to revel in the drunken frenzy of Your Love

and feel the strength of Rustam in my hands.

I’m sick of mortal kings.

I long to see Your Light.

With lamps in hand

the sheiks and mullahs roam

the dark alleys of these towns

not finding what they seek.

You are the Essence of the Essence,

The intoxication of Love.

I long to sing Your praises

but stand mute

with the agony of wishing in my heart.

Who or what is the Supreme Lover that Rumi writes of?
many names for the eternal lover: liberation, moksha, realization, enlightenment, the self, love, eternity, atma realization, brahma, salvation, kingdom of god, nirvana, god, the placeless place, the timeless, the formless, the nameless, the unborn, the source of life and all creation, the essence of your being, beingness... all pointers to the One existence behind all existence...

thank you for sharing these beautiful, miraculous, uplifting poems!
Reply:the absolute reality...the supreme being....the whole which encompasses and prevades everything...and is one and indivisible.
Reply:There is only one DIVINE LOVER from whom we are separated and yearn to merge with!!!

We all may call HIM by various names but HE remains the same.

The one who created this Universe, the one who is everywhere, wherever our eyes can see, our heart can feel, and maybe our mind will perceive too after clearing it of its ego....
Reply:He calls it the Essence of the Essence I call her Goddess.
Reply:Thanks inner peace I have collected a few of Rumi's poetry thanks so much for the beautiful poetry I love these poems of Rumi and I can see from all your answerers they love this poem and the many that you have posted in the pass keep them coming :))))))

The love that Rumi describes is so beautiful and so Pure and DIVINE to find a mortal love like this in this world is so rare and special what a beautiful IDEAL to lift our spirits and make us FLY so high and so free and so happy in the DIVINE LOVE of light which is GOD :))))
Reply:Ecstasy...to drive out of one's senses, to become "en-tranced"...the lifting out of the ordinary to the extraordinary, beyond the mundane. This is the Lover, the Loving, and the Beloved...spontaneous surrender to the Sacred...the Supreme Bliss...there is nothing else...only this "That" spoken of by the mystics... All That Is in blissful union with Itself. Behold...It is us...Ecstatic Being, being ecstatically known and "ex-pressed."
