For classic country fans?

are there any CD's out full of all the older country songs? ie: teddy bear, rose garden, wine colored roses...

For classic country fans?
"Teddy Bear?" Ewwwww. Red Sovine did some bad songs in his time, but that is the worst of the worst. (Now, if you meant Barbara Fairchild's "Teddy Bear Song," that's a completely different story -- that's a great tune!)

Time-Life used to have a series called "Country USA," which featured 24 of the biggest hits of each year from 1950 through 1973. I think it's out of print now, but it was an outstanding series. You might be able to find it for sale on auction sites.

I also have a series from Capitol Records called "Classic Country Collectors." It has five CDs in the set: "Hillbilly," "The 40s," "The 50s," "The 60s," and "The 70s." That was an import set from England, so that would have to be found either from overseas sites or, again, through auctions.

The last set I have that I'd recommend is a 4-CD set from the Smithsonian Institution. It begins at the beginning: "Soldier's Joy" by Gid Tanner %26amp; the Skillet Lickers. That is probably available through the Smithsonian.
Reply:I have 5,694 songs on my computer and 90% of that is CLASSIC COUNTRY and I make CD'S for people if you would like for me to make you some Classic Country CD'S you can email me at shawnq@alltel.net and I will let you know how much

and yes I have "Teddy Bear" by Red Sovine
Reply:I have several cds with some of the songs you listed.

Golden Country Jukebox (Capitol)

Pure Country Hits (two disc set MCA)

16 Classic Country Hits (MCA)

Great Ladies of Country (K-tel)

Country Classics (Classic Sound inc)

Are you referring to the Teddy Bear song "I wish I were a Teddy Bear, not living or loving nor going nowhere. . . " or the Trucker song about the crippled boy named "Teddy Bear" . . . both are great songs!
Reply:CMT has remastered collections with songs like those all the time. They just released one about 5 or 6 months ago that had a bunch of Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Porter Wagoner, and a lot more. It's probably still available on their website if you look at the infomercials that support them.
Reply:Ihave ordered CD,s from "artistdirect.com" and from "countrymusicgreats.co"

Both have tons of older/classic country music.
Reply:I have ordered "make my own" CD's on walmart.com.

They have a huge song base!!!
