When is the best time to plant bushes/hedges?

Last fall I completely removed everything from the flower beds in front of my house. There were 2 rose bushes that were all but destroyed from some type of bug so I dug those out as well. I would like to have 2 bushes, or something else that is permanent, where the rose bushes were. I'm looking for suggestions on what I could plant and also what is the best time to do the planting. This is my first house so I'm rather new at the gardening thing.

When is the best time to plant bushes/hedges?
Now is a good time to plant bushes and shrubs go to your garden center and they can tell you what is best for your area and how big they will get.
Reply:There are two better times to plant bushes or hedges.

In the Fall before the ground freezes which will allow the soil to get completely around the roots by the time spring arrives and the soil warms up allowing the plant to come out of its winter dormancy.

And in the Spring time after all threat of freezing weather is over and the ground has thawed.

There are just so many beautiful bushes and hedges available it would be impossible to give you any idea as to what you should plant because this would depend upon your particular taste, etc. etc. etc.

Obtain a Gardening Catalog which would contain pictures and descriptions of Hedges and Bushes from one of the Nursery's in your area and check what they would recommend for your particular location.

Actually they may have just what you are looking for and can advise what kind of care and treatment as to the fertilizer, etc. you should give it to make it grow as healthy as possible.

Good luck
Reply:I'd say go to a local nursery and ask them for opinions. Take a picture of the front of your house along, and let them know what you're looking for. They will have advice on local or climate appropriate options, and be able to tell you the planting/care for each of them.
Reply:Any month that has a R in it.This is a fact
