Shall I wait till spring to move my roses?

I have two rose bushes I wish to move from a shady place in my garden to a sunnyer spot. But as of yesterday (10-23-06) my planting season ended due to snow. I life in the Great Lakes region. Any good ideas?

Shall I wait till spring to move my roses?
Do it now. The ground will still be warm for a while, and they can grow roots in the new place, then be all ready to grow everything else in the spring. Plus if you wait til spring, the ground will be cold and wet for a long time, and they will start growing leaves, then have to be transplanted and get spring growth disrupted.

Once the ground gets frozen this fall, then do standard winter rose care - mulching, pruning, whatever.
Reply:Trim them all the way back to the main stems, about 2' long, then transplant them before spring.
Reply:yea

move the snow then move the rose bushes before they die%26lt;i think%26gt;
Reply:now is the time to plant trees and bushes
