Rose leaves are dying - black spot?

Hi. I'm brand new (to gardening and also to this forum), and have a new rose bush called "Golden Masterpiece Hybrid Tea." I don't see a latin name. I've been looking around and think it may have black spot? It has spots. They are black. It didn't take too long to come up with that, but how do i know? And what do I do? Can I send pics on here? I uploaded some to flickr:

Any help is appreciated! :)

Rose leaves are dying - black spot?
Actually, that picture shows that you have an insect that is eating the buds. So you may have more than one problem - there are special formulations in the garden shop that will help for molds and for insects. If the leaves are turning yellow and black and falling off - then that is black spot, one type of fungus. Because it is humid and warm here in the South, I treat my roses and redtips for blackspot by limbing them up and keeping the leaves off the lower part of the canes - black spot is soil-borne, so rain water splashing back off the ground is how it gets onto the plant, normally. Once you have it in good health, try to stay ahead of it by leaving the canes a little taller (about 30-36") and removing leaves that form below this height - that will limit the amount of this is gets in the future.
Reply:Take the leaves off that have black spots and carefully throw them away without dropping any around the plant. Treat the rose with a fungicide -- Ortho makes a good one for roses. If you caught it early you can save your rose.
Reply:Both above answers are correct. I just wanted to note that you should always water your rose bushes from the bottom. Do not get the leaves wet if you can help it. This will help prevent the black spot fungus.
