History of harrogate?

I recently saw an old map (1849) of Harrogate showing an area behind what was The Granby Hotel and is now 1940's housing. This map showed the road as Brick Kiln Lane and at the end of the road was an area of walled garden called Rose Ville Garden. This is in what must now be the Roseville Road area. Can anyone tell me any more about the Garden and maybe the area in general around the 1850's? My house has a very old red brick wall at the end with strange infills and 'shelves' with what look like burned areas. I wonder if this wall could've been part of the Rose Ville Garden and indeed maybe part of the original hot or greenhouses? As for the road called Brick Kiln Lane - any evidence of brick making hereabouts? This would be possible because of the proximity of wet areas in the vicinity where maybe clay was readily available? Any info will be appreciated.
