During His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Father sent an angel to strengthen the Savior....
His human nature, as He was anticipating His passion, death and rejection by His own people. This was the angel of Consolation.
As He had foretold, Christ rose from the dead on the third day after His Crucifixion. When the women came to the tomb to visit what they thought would be the lifeless body of Jesus, they were met by an angel who told them that the Savior had risen from the dead and they were to go into Galilee and tell the good news to His disciples. This was the angel of the Resurrection.
THE TABLET REVEALS-Much of the text, a vision of the apocalypse transmitted by the angel Gabriel, draws on the Old Testament, especially the prophets Daniel, Zechariah and Haggai. expression "Thus said the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel" appears many times, as does the name Jerusalem.
So does the Tablet verify the Angel Gabriel who came to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane?
No, it doesn't Crimmy. Please read my answer to your last question about this. I'll repost it here:
======================================...
No it won't shake up Judaism, at any rate. The article also says:
“This is the sign of the son of Joseph. This is the conscious view of Jesus himself. This gives the Last Supper an absolutely different meaning. To shed blood is *NOT FOR THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE* but to bring redemption to Israel.”
-- Mr. Knohl, Fellow, Shalom Hartman Institute, Yehezkel Kaufman Professor of Biblical Studies at Hebrew University
--------------------------------------...
If you knew Judaism, you'd know that there has never existed the concept of a Messiah who is killed for the sins of anyone. This is an impossibility in Judaism and in the Torah given by God. It is human blood sacrifice, which is an abomination to God.
So first of all, this idea of the Christians, that the Messiah has to die for the sins of mankind, comes from paganism, not Judaism - and this tablet bears this out.
Secondly, there has ALWAYS existed in Judaism the concept of 2 Moshiachs. The Moshiach ben Yosef and the Moshiach ben Dovid. This is discussed in the Midrash, Gemara, Zohar and other places.
In fact, when the fake Jews, the Messianics (who are mainly Gentiles by birth, not Jews), learned about this concept around three years ago for their general population, they began stating that Jesus was the Moshiach ben Yosef.
I'm speaking of the Fundamentalist Christian Gentile Baptist Messianics who started the entire movement of "Messianic Judaism" in order to deceive Jews into converting to Christianity.
Then the idea was picked up by the rest of them, the ones who have proliferated on the internet lately - although no doubt some of the more recent ones probably haven't heard of it yet.
In any case, Jesus wasn't even Moshiach ben Yosef. He didn't do what even this Messiah was supposed to do. He therefore doesn't qualify.
A quick rundown on Moshiach ben Yosef and Moshiach ben Dovid. Also please check it out on the internet FROM JEWISH SOURCES, not the Messianic fake "Jews":
The Moshiach ben Yosef comes at the time of Gog and Magog - Armageddon. He rallys all of Israel to wake up and fight for their land against the invading armies. They do. He goes out into battle as their leader, for Israel, and he is killed. He lays in the streets for 3 days. Israel loses heart, and it looks as though the battle has been lost.
Three days there being symbolic. It might be 3 days, it might be 4 or 5 or more. In any case, his body lays in the streets. Israel seems to be defeated at this moment, and the invading armies rejoice.
Shortly thereafter comes the Moshiach ben Dovid.
THE Messiah. He raises Moshiach ben Yosef from the dead, and resumes the battle for Israel, and wins.
As you can see, Jesus didn't do any of that, the time wasn't Armageddon, etc. when he was supposed to have lived. Nor was he killed in battle.
These are VERY specific prophecies. The Christian idea that "the jews were expecting a warrior messiah so didn't recognise the true messiah Jesus when he came" is hogwash.
The very reason the Jews are expecting a warrior messiah is because that IS the prophecy that God gave. Christianity cannot insert a fake messiah who doesn't fulfill those prophecies - and then say that the Jews "just didn't recognise him". See how that works?
In the end, the Messiah is also a peacemaker, and fulfills the prophecy that the world shall beat their swords into plowshares, there will be peace on earth. Again, the Christians say that the Jews were not expecting a peacemaker. Ummm, yes we are. The Messiah is a warrior who must do battle at the beginning, and out of this arises peace to the entire world after evil has been eradicated.
Jesus didn't do that either. He just doesn't qualify as either Messiah ben Yosef or Messiah ben Dovid.
It is said in Kabbalah circles that Messiah ben Yosef comes from the Ashkenazi Jewish bloodline (the Eastern European Jews), and Moshiach ben Dovid comes from the Sephardi Jewish bloodline.
So this tablet, if it proves to be authentic, is not saying anything new to or about Judaism.
It also reiterates that the Jewish Messiah doesn't die for anyone's sins. There is no such concept for the Messiah, in Judaism, and this tablet shows this.
Christians will no doubt take it and run with it as pointing to Jesus, but again, this is due to their ignorance of who and what the Messiah ben Yosef and Messiah ben Dovid are, and what they are to do, and what the prophecies about them are.
The should be very careful about that. If they are going to do that, then they should also remember these tablets also show that there is no such thing as a Messiah who is killed for anyone's sins. He may be killed, but it isn't for sins. It is to bring the Messiah ben Dovid, who doesn't appear until AFTER Messiah ben Yosef dies in battle.
Thus, the Messiah ben Yosef DOES die for the redemption of Israel - not in the human blood sacrifice way the Christians have it, but to save Israel and the Jews from the invading Gentiles.
Here is the article for those who want to read it themselves:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/06/world/...
P.S. Furthermore, I'd have to ask what Mr. Knohl's agenda is, is he Jewish? If so, why doesn't he seem to know any of this? Is he Christian? That would explain why he doesn't know any of this and is attempting to show that this tablet is somehow pointing to Jesus.
P.S.S. No, not just four incidents of Gabriel appearing are recorded. This shows that whoever said that is not familiar with Moshaich ben Yosef and Moshiach ben Dovid, as Gabriel appears at Armageddon as well - AND comforts Moshiach ben Yosef.
If anything, this tablet shows that Christianity took well known Jewish concepts and tried to apply them to their false Messiah story of Jesus. It doesn't work like that. Jesus didn't do ANY of what the Messiah ben Yosef OR the Messiah ben Dovid is to do.
Reply:Until I can read the text for myself (can't find it on the internet), I can't say it does too much for me. What I can find about it suggest that the Essenes wrote it and it may help confirm some scholars' beliefs that Jesus was an Essene.
Reply:As I understand it, this stone was written in Hebrew, and since the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, I have no problems with believing what is written on this stone to be true. While I don't need a stone tablet to proove to me what the Bible says is true since I have the witness of the Holy Spirit, many do not believe that the man who came 2,000 years ago was indeed the Messiah, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who would come to suffer and die %26amp; shed His blood for the forgiveness of ALL sins for ALL people, Jews and Gentiles, BEFORE He comes back as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The Apostle Paul went from being one who persecuted the Jews to being persecuted himself because of his encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. He preached nothing but Jesus Christ, crucified and resurrected until the day he died, yet many Jews would not believe. There are many "Messianic Jews" today who, like the disciples and the Apostle Paul, have had their eyes opened to this truth because of a "personal" encounter and subsequent "personal relationship" with the risen Christ. It is my prayer that what is written on this stone tablet which has been found will speak to the hearts of many, and that many will read the New Testament and believe. God bless!!!
