Rose Petals & My Male Cat?

My male cat goes crazy for roses. I mean he can tell if they are in the apartment and must get to them. I don't let him have store bought roses but if I am out walking and come across a rose in someone's garden - I'll steal a petal and give that to him to eat. He doesn't go as crazy for other flowers but roses really do it for him. Why?

wow ur cat love to eat rose petals!!! that is weird. i heard that cat can find their own herb to make their body healty or to clean their stomach.

Reply:I wish my cat was like that. Instead he ate some of my Ponytail holders and something else! He threw up the ponytail holders and now the vet and I are waiting ont he something else, which is in it's intestine right now.



Then again, that sounds pretty cool. Maybe when Dobby gets home, I'll get some rose petals and see what his reaction is.



By the way, did you know that not all cat's like catnip? YEAH! I cut some fresh catnip leaves for my cat's toys and he hasn't played with them! Then again, he has been feeling pretty badly lately. So maybe when he gets home he'll get turned on! :)



Also, another fact, cats eat grass. it helps with their diet. You can buy come cat grass in a store, grow it in the little container, and then let your cat eat. Mayeb when he eats the rose petals he's getting what he's not getting from grown grass.



PS, is he an indoor cat? I'm assuming he is since he goes crazy for them everytime you bring some roses home. But if he goes outdoors, dont' be surprised to hear that your neighboor's garden of roses has been shreddded! :D

Reply:I wouldn't worry about it unless the roses were sprayed with pesticide or something. My female cat is insane about eating rose petals as well. It's the only thing she likes. I guess they just like the smell %26amp; taste!
