Did you see Portland Kick the Lakers Butt tonight?
Great win by the Blazers.
I am a Lakers fan and I think this was a much needed "loss".
The Lakers squad are getting used to have big leads then suddenly they let the other team get back.
This was a lesson they needed to learn.
That they are VULNERABLE.
That come playoff time, it's not always big leads. It's protecting the leads you have.
They need to learn how to close out teams.
Not outscore them alone.
Another thing to worry is Derek's shooting. It has been off lately.
But well, I don't care if we lost.
They are still the Top Team in the WEst.

Nuts+Fat+Stuck = NBA cards : yeah right. gasol sucked. at least we're 11-2 with him.
With fat, you are 2-3 and still counting.
Reply:Um...Bryant outshines everyone individually, even especially against Roy. Nevertheless, Portland kicked butt.
Reply:It was a sweet game living in LA I had to suffer through the Lakers announcers while watching it, but I am so happy to have bragging rights over my pals for awhile, but you have to credit Jack, Aldridge, and Outlaw, for the great win they played great.
Reply:Yes im happy.
Reply:What up mit_rets,
Tied at 107 with a little over 3 minutes to go can hardly be called a "************". Also consider that Portland shot nearly 50% from the three point line while the Lakers had a dismal night shooting the three- many which were open looks.
In many ways i think the loss is healthy for the Lakers because they have been a little sloppy lately and i think fell a little too much in love with the threes since it's been so succesful for them-- just not tonight- and Portland's shooting was fantastic. Roy played a great game- and Kobe played a great first half- but should have been more of a factor down the stretch- had a pretty solid overall game. Gasol looked a little tenative and defensively the Lakers just didn't play well. i think it brings them back down to earth and back to working hard-- and i think they'll be fine.
B Roy played a great game- but i'm not sure how exactly he "out-shined" Kobe... Both guys played solid games to put their teams in a position to win. Brandon got the best of this one, and Portland is always a tough place to play.
But remember it's not the regular season but the playoffs that count...

Reply:good for them
Reply:It's simple really. Portland was only missing Oden.
The Lakers were missing Bynum, Radmanovich and Ariza and coming off a back to back game running around with Miami.
Portland was playing illegal zone defense the whole night and not being called for it either.
Whether you are Boston, Detroit, the Spurs or the Lakers, you can't expect to win every single game.
Could Portland beat the Lakers in a 7 game series? Hell no!
GO LAKERS!
Reply:First of all portland didnt blow out the lakers. Lakers were playing SLOPPY. and tehy still got close. Also lakers are 8-26 since 1992 at the rose garden. There is soemthign about that place that doesnt goes well for the lakers. lakers are best of the west. tehy own your team. and KOBE OUTSHINE ROY. Roy really didnt do that much. the whole blazer team contributed dumba$$. im pretty sure you just look at the stats and not the game. whole laker team was playing terrible except kobe
Reply:First of all they did not kick the lakers butt the lakers only lost by a short amount it was a 2-4 point game with 2 minutes to go. Second the lakers are shorthanded with bynuum and ariza but also vladimar radmonivic which was a great three point shooter and the lakers threes werent going in soo yea big deal when it comes play off time who will go further? The Lakers
Reply:thanks portland for stopping my teams 10 game win streak and making them realize they can never relax against the weaker teams. You just made the lakers even hungrier thanks.
